When emergencies happen, you can count on Gunnison Valley Hospital’s Emergency Department to provide expert, compassionate care—24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our emergency physicians, nurses, and staff are trained and equipped to respond quickly to a wide range of medical needs, ensuring you receive the highest quality care when you need it most.

When should you go to the Emergency Department? 

Seek emergency care right away if you experience: 

  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath 
  • Chest or upper abdominal pain or pressure 
  • Fainting, sudden dizziness, or weakness 
  • Sudden changes in vision, speech, or coordination 
  • Any sudden or severe pain 
  • Uncontrolled bleeding 
  • Severe or persistent vomiting or diarrhea 
  • Coughing or vomiting blood 
  • Thoughts of harming yourself (suicidal feelings) 
  • Major injuries or trauma 
  • Any other condition you believe is an emergency 

Ambulance Services 

Gunnison Valley Hospital also provides ambulance services for the entire valley. Our EMTs are your friends and neighbors—dedicated community members who train extensively to respond quickly and effectively when emergencies arise.
