At Gunnison Valley Oncology & Hematology, we are dedicated to providing world-class cancer care and blood treatments without requiring you to travel long distances. Through our Telehealth partnership with Intermountain Health Oncologist and Hematologist, you can receive expert cancer treatment and hematology care in person, right here in Gunnison, with the compassionate support of our experienced hospital nurses.
The Oncologist Hematologist is able to achieve a successful examination with the patients each time through the use of tele-health technology. This includes a high-resolution camera, audio equipment and even monitors that the patient can wear at home to help the doctor monitor vitals, physicals activity and other health indicators.
Once the doctor has met with the patient virtually, he prescribes treatment. The majority of that treatment is then completed in Clinic by one of our nurses.
Advanced, In-Clinic Appointments with Oncologist Hematologist joining Virtually
Our appoints feel like any typical doctor’s appointment. You come to your appointment at your scheduled time. Once you arrive, one of our nurses will bring you back to check your vitals, then escort you to an exam room. The nurse will remain in the exam room with you during the entirety of your appointment. He/she will connect a tele-health call with the Oncologist Hematologist where the patient will see the doctor on a TV screen and the patient will also be on camera so the doctor can see the patient. The patient will have their tele-health appointment in the clinic exam room with the Oncologist Hematologist. The nurse will take notes during the appointment, answer your questions, and coordinate your personalized care plan.
The patient will receive the majority of their treatments in clinic either following the appointment, or on a different scheduled date.

- Schedule a Consultation: Contact us to book an appointment with our oncologist hematologist.
- Initial Visit: During your first visit, you will meet with a nurse in the room as he/she helps you connect to the Oncologist Hematologist via tele-health. The Oncologist Hematologist, with help from the nurse, will conduct a thorough examination and discuss your medical history.
- Diagnosis: We use advanced diagnostic tools to accurately identify your condition. The majority of the diagnostics can be performed in our clinic.
- Treatment Plan: Our team will develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs. Your treatments will be completed in our clinic.
